Course Overview

The Water Reticulation Practitioner (WRP) maintains the integrity of the portability of the water supply from the water reservoir to the household water point. S/he installs and maintains the water reticulation infrastructure, identifies and attends to water leaks, installs water meters, maintains the water system and interfaces with the public.

Course Content
  1. Identify, inspect, use, maintain and care for engineering hand tools.
  2. Operate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic tools and equipment
  3. Sling regular loads
  4. Lift and move a load using manual lifting equipment and tackle
  5. Direct crane operations
  6. Read and interpret maps, construction drawings and site of water reticulation systems
  7. Excavate a trench and install shoring
  8. Use signals to guide excavation equipment operator
  9.  Lay pipes for water reticulation systems
